Pottery Wheel evening classes
7-week course
Seven nights of “me time” on the wheel exploring and refining your connection with clay: throwing, trimming, and glazing your work to be fired in the kiln.
If you've thrown before, this is your chance to work with George on the specific forms and skills you want to develop.
New comers are welcome - no prior experience is required.
All materials, glazes and firing service included.
And yes… we now have very effective overhead heaters installed - thanks to support from Hindmarsh Shire’s ‘Business Boost' program so you won’t freeze!
Part of this course will involve editing your creations. We'll build that through the term, recycling pots that haven't quite landed. Later in the term, you and George will select together what goes to bisque in preparation for the glaze firing.

Pottery experiences (one-off)
Pottery Wheel experience
90-minute intro class
$78, Single one-off class
Discover the joy of working with clay in this immersive 90-minute pottery wheel class.
These classes are usually held on Sundays and are perfect for complete beginners. No experience needed, and all tools and materials are provided.
This is a wonderful activity to share with friends, partners, or family — a rare chance to slow down, get your hands in the clay, and be fully present in the making.
Children aged 12–15 are welcome when accompanied by an adult carer or guardian. Please note the class is not suitable for children under 12, due to the size and height of the pottery wheels.
This class is all about the experience and the process. Throwing well on a pottery wheel is a skill that takes time to develop, so come ready to play, experiment, and enjoy the ride rather than expect a finished product.
If you realy like what you have made, you can add glazing and firing for $35 per pot, at the end of class. We'll bisque fire your work, glaze it in a colour of your choice, and have it ready for collection within 2–3 months.
Make your own Plates and Platters: 2-hour class
$175, Single one-off class
Make simple handmade plates and platters in this fun and accessible 2-hour workshop.
Cost includes clay, glazing and firing 3-4 of your creations in our kiln.
You will learn how to work with ready-made clay slabs, creating your own plate and platter shapes, shaping your slabs on ‘hump’ moulds, and decorating the surface of your pots with stamps and carvings.
This is an ideal experience for those of you looking to create some origial hand-made gifts or home decor and personalised tableware items!
Your finished ceramic items will be ready for collection after they have been dried, bisque-fired, glazed and glazed-fired - this usually takes 2-3 months.
